About Us...

Our editor, Pat O'Shea, has been course announcer at Clifford Park in Toowoomba for the past 20 years. He calls every race and every barrier trial that happens there. A very good percentage of Toowoomba and Downs trained gallopers win races in the metropolitan area and there is no better source of that information than O'Shea. He also has been a form analyst of Queensland racing for 35 years. His network of track watchers in Toowoomba, Brisbane and the Gold Coast keep him fully informed on all that happens before the Sun comes up. In the years that The Last Stride has been operating, O'Shea has earned a reputation for finding the right horses, but more importantly, at the right prices. Winners at prices of 20 to 1 and better have been common.

Earl Carter, our Victorian Chief, has had a lifetime in racing and is one of the most knowledgable and well connected people in Australian racing. He has gained legendary status with his selections on Queensland radio. Winners at prices of over 100 to 1 have attracted followers from all over Australia. In 2003, his exclusive selection for the Melbourne Cup was She's Archie at odds of 150 to 1. It's history now that she was a certainty beaten. That's the sort of information he has become famous for.

We also provide a detailed Sydney city, and mid week service from The Informer and his team of trackwork watchers and form analysts. Our subscribers can testify to their strike rates and ability to spot a good horse early in its preparation. Glaring examples of this in recent months have been Savabeel and Lotteria. Both horses were earmarked after just a couple of runs and this enabled some of our subscribers to grab 150 to 1 Savabeel in the Cox Plate.
